
Cacao will be served before we begin our session, and we'll gather in a short circle to check in with where you are at today. It is not a time to fix or change anyone, but a time to share where we are at today and celebrate with each other in this safe space. After the circle we'll begin our yin yoga session.
This class an opportunity to slow down and come into yourself on your mat. Get in touch with your body and breath during this yin-style class where we'll keep the practice slow and low with floor poses that we'll hold for around 3-5 minutes. We'll be using blocks, sandbags and various props to enhance the practice so you can more comfortably hold poses a little longer and find new space in your body.
Yin yoga focuses on expanding the connective tissue throughout our bodies. It is a slow process, different than other types of yoga or other stretching that is shorter durations. When we expand our connective tissue, we release toxins and open our bodies up to better movement, posture and feeling more alive.
If you are new to cacao, it is the rawest and purest form of chocolate. Cacao is a widely used superfood that nourishes our body and is known to have a spiritual element that opens the heart, softens our worries, fears, and doubts, and brings us a deeper connection to the self and our innate creativity. It's full of antioxidants, and healthy fat and tastes amazing!
Please bring a mug for your cacao, a journal & a pen. Wear comfy clothes & socks to stay warm!
