RIW Special Spring Events!

Jessica Karpinske | MAR 13, 2023

Hi all!

Happy Monday!

Here we are, the time has changed, and we have more light in the evenings. Days are longer and I'm feeling hopeful like spring is on its way (despite recent snow). I am feeling inspired to offer a few extra events as we head into spring.

Some Sunday afternoon events that will be held in-person combining yoga and raw cacao mixed into a delicious chocolatey drink as well as a month-long coaching & workshop series in April which will be online that will help you align your life with what you hope to accomplish this year.

This is the perfect time to do this work as Spring is a season for germinating seeds and new growth in nature and in our lives.

During this class I will offer assists that provide an opportunity for you to explore poses and find a new place in your body that you might not have found in your own practice. Assists lend a stable hand, letting you feel a sense of liberation, reassurance and freedom in your body that can be physically and energetically transformational.

Using blocks, bolsters, sandbags and direct, hands-on assistance, a new experience to transform your yoga practice and the way you feel poses and alignment in your body.

This will be a mix of restorative and hatha yoga.

Yin-Tensive X Cacao

This afternoon is an opportunity to slow down and come into yourself on your mat and get in touch with your body and breath. It is a yin-style class where we'll keep the practice slow and low, with floor poses that we'll hold for longer periods of time. We'll be using blocks, sandbags and various props to enhance the practice so you can more comfortably hold poses a little longer and find new space in your body.

Chakras are like wheels or circles that vibrate pranic, life force energy. This energy contains our thoughts, values and feelings. As our chakras become energized, the physical and emotional aspects corresponding to each frequency are also energized along with our consciousness. When we release our physical tension, we release the movement of energy allowing physical and emotional blocks to dissolve and open up.

This practice is focused on opening up the chakras and allowing our energy to be released as we can live in harmony with our true nature, love. We will accompany the practice with a cup of single origin raw cacao from Guatemala prepared with warming spices and sweetened with honey.
